The talk is divided into three parts and will deal initially with condensation and the various types of dampness, detailing how and why problems arise. The second part concentrates on black mould with specific emphasis on how mould occurs, where it occurs, the health risks, legal aspects and how to cure problems that arise. The third part deals with overcoming severe condensation problems and specifically improving the thermal performance of solid wall homes. The presentation is illustrated, depicting all the various problems and there will be an explanation of some of MGC’s specialist treatments. Time will be set aside at the end of the talk for questions.
This presentation complies with C.P.D. and certificates will be available on request. The duration of the talk is approximately one and half hours. The presentation is ideal for surveyors, housing inspectors and maintenance staff who have to deal with these problems on a day to day basis and also staff who receive the telephone calls on ‘dampness’ complaints.
