MGC has unrivalled experience in dealing with moss, lichen and algae contamination and paint deterioration on buildings and structures and provides a free analytical service for all Local Authorities, Housing Association or commercial and industrial clients.

For sites due for decoration under cyclical maintenance programmes, one of our surveyors will visit the property, carry out an in-depth survey and submit a report detailing the problems affecting the site and a full specification for the rectification and redecoration of the property.

THE PROBLEM

On conventional masonry paints, algae mosses and lichens can become established within a short period of time causing severe disfigurement which necessitates early and costly re-decoration.

Mosses, lichens and algae are not only unsightly – their root system bores into the substrate causing cracks which then allow the passage of moisture resulting in flaking of the paint film. In addition acids are excreted which attack the substrate causing powdering and further deterioration.

With moisture comes frost attack, all of which combine to give rapid failure of conventional decorative finishes. The BIOCHECK S.P. SYSTEM solves all these problems and provides a durable decorative finish to masonry which protects buildings for up to 15 years.

THE SOLUTION

BIOCHECK S.P. masonry coating and its primer sealer HALODEC are designed to prevent algae growths on top of and behind the decorative finish and in hairline-cracks which lead to early breakdown of coatings.

 

 

 

THE BIOCHECK S.P. SYSTEM

Comprises a fungicidal stabilising primer sealer – HALODEC – and a choice of 3 decorative textured coatings:- BIOCHECK S.P., BIOCHECK 2507 AND BIOSHIELD.

BIOCHECK S.P. masonry coatings and HALODEC contain unique biocides which provide continual protection against all external growths of algae, mosses and lichens and, unlike ordinary short-lived fungicides and bleaches, continue giving protection for the life of the coating.
